GREEN BAY, Wis. — Sustainability is a hot topic with a lot of moving parts. Thanks to a new sustainability project framework, farmers and their partners have a guide to jump-start their sustainability practices and, importantly, measure the impact.
On the latest episode of the Dairy Stream podcast, host Mike Austin discussed the Framework for Farm-level Sustainability Projects with two of the creators — Lauren Brey, managing director of Farmers for Sustainable Food, and Doug Thomas, senior project manager at Houston Engineering.
This first-of-its-kind framework outlines a project-based approach to developing a farm-level sustainability project that measures both environmental and financial impacts.
The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin sponsored the episode.
