Our current Chautauqua County Dairy Princes, Joyce Wiltsie, Frewsburg, NY will crown the 2017 -2018 Dairy Princess, as well as recognize the Dairy Ambassadors. Joyce has served our dairy industry over the past year promoting the health benefits of milk and dairy products at various local events. Joyce recently represented Chautauqua County in the New York State Dairy Princess Program, where she presented a speech and answered questions on the nutritional value of milk and dairy products and about the dairy industry. The dairy promotion committee and local dairy farmers appreciate Joyce Wiltsie’s efforts educating the public about dairy products and dairy farming.
The 2017 Dairy of Distinction Awards will also be presented to local dairy farms from throughout Chautauqua County. Established in 1983, the Dairy of Distinction program recognizes the hard work and dedication of dairy farm families who maintain attractive, well-kept farmsteads in an effort to promote a positive image of our dairy industry.
The Dairy of Distinction program honors attractive dairy farms which give consumers greater confidence in the wholesomeness of milk, stimulates milk sales, and encourages public support for the dairy industry.
Lisa Kempisty, Extension Educator, with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County states “Dairy farmers work hard each and every day producing high quality, nutritious dairy products for all to enjoy and we look forward to recognizing these Dairy of Distinction farm families for also maintaining attractive farmsteads.” “All are welcome to join us to celebrate “June is Dairy Month” on June 2nd in Mayville.”
