SACRAMENTO — Dairy Cares is inviting visitors to explore its recently redesigned website, DairyCares.com. Formed in 2001, Dairy Cares aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of California’s family dairy farms. DairyCares.com communicates the milestones achieved in responsible animal care and environmental stewardship—including California dairy families’ recent efforts to serve as global leaders in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
“Dairy families care about the environment, and it’s important to share this message—now more than ever,” says Erin Nutcher, fourth generation California dairy farmer. “We hold ourselves to the highest standards in protecting and preserving natural resources, and I’m excited about Dairy Cares’ efforts to promote the work we do.”
Nutcher and her family appear in a video on the home page of the new website, which provides an overview of dairy families’ efforts to conserve and protect natural resources. The video features footage from real California dairy farms, including one of the state’s dairy digesters, which captures methane to create clean, renewable electricity. The website showcases additional videos, stories, photos and more:
- An updated map of California dairy digester development,
- A printable overview of dairy farm families’ milestones in sustainability, and
- A monthly e-newsletter, with updates in sustainability achievements and challenges.
To encourage viewers to explore the redesigned website, Dairy Cares is hosting a Find a Cow campaign. Small cow icons are temporarily hidden throughout the webpages. Click on a cow between now and August 24, and enter to win Real California Milk prizes.
