COBLESKILL, N.Y. —Festival Farmers Market, in Cobleskill NY, kicks off the 2017 growing season on June 17 th by celebrating the start of summer with their traditional Dairy & Berry Day Celebration! Always a family-fun day, it has been expanded this year to include new elements along with old standards. Beginning the 2017 series of Chef Demonstrations at the Farmers Market, Chef Rob Handel, of The Bees Knees Café at Heather Ridge Farm in Preston Hollow NY, is the featured chef this Saturday. An award by Bassett Health Care Network 5-2- 1-0 Healthy Lifestyle grant for the second year in a row makes the Chef Demonstration series possible. Chef Handel will be introducing market shoppers to a new take on “strawberries and cream”, which will be available for free sampling. Live music, refreshments, a Schoharie Valley Farm to School “Farmers Market Scavenger Hunt”, along with Officer Chris Sniffen and K-9 partner, Wilson, ensure that there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
