RAPID CITY, S.D. — Curious about your property taxes? Wondering what the Legislature might do about it? Come to our convention Thursday, September 21 at 1:30pm.

Dr. Matthew Elliot, Economist and professor at SDSU will present his research regarding current property tax assessment policy and some options the legislature could consider for moving forward.

His research was commissioned by the Ag-land Assessment Taskforce to help determine future policies, including a move to “Actual Use” which Stockgrowers has long supported.

Dr. Elliot’s presentation will be followed by an opportunity to hear from several South Dakota Senators and Representatives. It’ll be a great chance to hear from them, learn from them, and share your thoughts and ideas. Senators Gary Cammack and Jason Frerichs, as well as Representatives Lee Qualm, Hermann Otten and Tom Brunner have been invited to participate.
