DANBURY, Conn. — The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut (CT NOFA) announces OrganiConn: CT NOFA’s 36th Annual Winter Conference to be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm at Western Connecticut State University, 181 White St, Danbury, CT 06810.
CT NOFA’s 2018 Winter Conference is the premier event for organic fans, farmers, gardeners, foodies, and families in Connecticut. Keynote speaker Dave Chapman is a farmer and an organic activist. He will deliver an address titled, “The Fight For Organic Integrity & What Savvy Organic Eaters Need To Know: How the USDA Organic label has strayed from its origins, what that means to us, and how to identify foods grown with the original organic values.”
Additionally, this conference features a over 40 workshops with industry experts and professionals. Workshop topics range from pollinator health, carbon farming, and professional organic landcare techniques, to homesteading, business planning, and educating consumers of the modern organic produce market. This Winter Conference has something for everyone, be they a farmer, landcare professional, gardener, or fan of organic foods. Speakers include:
