CHAZY, N.Y. — Miner Institute’s annual Crop Congress meeting will be held Wednesday, January 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joseph C. Burke Education and Research Center, 586 Ridge Road, Chazy. This meeting is free and open to the public.
Dr. Eric Young from Miner Institute will give an update on tile drainage research; Joe Lawrence, Dairy Forage Systems Specialist for PRO-DAIRY will discuss corn traits, pest management and corn silage hybrids; Kelsey O’Shea from Cornell Cooperative Extension North Country Regional Ag Team will discuss crop insurance options; Dr. Gary Bergstrom from Cornell University will give an overview and update on field crop diseases; and Dr. Rick Grant from Miner Institute will discuss feeding corn silage to lactating dairy cows.
Crop Congress is organized in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension. DEC and CCA Pesticide applicator credits will be available. Pre-registration is encouraged. Attendees can network with vendors before the meeting from 9 to 10 a.m. Door prizes are available.
