WATERLOO, Iowa — Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists will travel to Waterloo on January 17th for the 2019 Crop Advantage Series to provide farmers, crop consultants and agribusinesses with current research from Iowa State University and updated management information and recommendations based on current and future crop production issues. In addition, the meeting will also offer continuing educations credits for Certified Crop Advisers (CCA) and pesticide safety recertification.
“There is no other program in our crop production education year that we are able to bring this many extension specialists together to individual sites across the state like we are able to do for these Crop Advantage meetings,” said Meaghan Anderson, field agronomist in north central Iowa with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.”
Topics at the Waterloo Crop Advantage Series meeting will include: Profitable use of weather data with Elwynn Taylor, Interpreting soil test results for P, K and pH after a dry or wet crop season with Antonio Mallarino, What’s new with corn diseases and foliar fungicides with Dr. Alison Robertson. Other topics will include a herbicide resistance, nitrogen management, and market outlook for 2019 with Chad Hart.
Early registration for Waterloo is $50, and late registration made less than seven days prior to the meeting or on-site is $60. Registration includes lunch, printed proceedings, private pesticide applicator recertification and CCA credits.
