OMAHA, neb. — Governor Pete Ricketts and the Nebraska Craft Brewers Guild announced three “Raise Glasses, Not Taxes” events on March 1, 2019 to stop tax increases on craft beer, spirits, wine, and other goods. The tax increases are contained in LB 314 and LB 497, which are currently under consideration in the Legislature. Three events will be held simultaneously in Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island.
“We are urging the Legislature to oppose tax increases on craft brewers and other Nebraska goods and services,” said Governor Ricketts. :In urban and rural areas across our state, these tax hikes will kill job opportunities for Nebraska families and inhibit continued growth in tourism and economic development.:
Each event will feature a short program as well as drinks for purchase. Attendees will be given the opportunity to write their Senator at the event. Questions can be directed to the Governor’s Office at 402-471-2244 or Gabby at the Craft Brewers Guild at 402-649-5486.
These events are open to the public.
