ITHACA, N.Y. — Join members of Cornell’s New York Soil Health Team, Cayuga and Tompkins Soil and Water Districts, and King’s AgriSeeds/Cayuga Ag Enterprises to explore an array of summer and fall-planted cover crops. This program is free and does not require registration.
- Summer and Winter Cover Crop Species and Mixtures Demo: We have expanded our demonstration to 60 cover crop plots. Plants will be dug up for root comparison, featuring summer cover crops (planted in July) and winter cover crops (planted in late August). Single species and multi-species mixes will be showcased. Engage with our experts to learn how to choose the right cover crop and even create a custom mix tailored to your soil health and crop production goals. - Designing Cover Crop Mixtures for Intended Goals: Learn the art of crafting cover crop mixes to achieve specific goals. Presented by Joseph Amsili from Cornell.
- Suppressing Weeds and Reducing Tillage with Cover Crops: Discover effective techniques for weed suppression and reduced tillage utilizing cover crops. Insights shared by Matt Ryan and Kristen Loria from Cornell.
