JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri Department of Agriculture has funding to assist Missouri specialty crop producers with the inspection cost associated with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Handling Practices (GHP) Certification. The GAP/GHP Certification Cost-Share Program is funded through the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The program provides cost-share assistance to producers and handlers receiving one year of certification/renewal.
The GAP/GHP Certification Cost Share Program will provide cost-share assistance of 75 percent of GAP/GHP audit costs up to a total of $750 for each certification. Only the costs for GAP or GHP inspections/audits completed during the cost share period beginning June 15, 2015, and ending Aug. 30, 2017, will be accepted. Funding is limited and reimbursement requests are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be postmarked by September 15, 2017 to be considered.
