SANTEE, S.C. — Clemson Cooperative Extension, South Carolina Department of Agriculture, South Carolina Farm Bureau and South Carolina Soybean Board will host the South Carolina Corn & Soybean Growers Meeting on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Santee Conference Center, 1737 Bass Drive/US-15, Santee, SC 29142. The program will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. and concludes with the drawing of the Grand Door Prize at 3:30 p.m. You must be present to win. A sponsored lunch will be provided. Trade show booths will open at 8:30 a.m.

KNOWING A GOOD STAND AND PROPER PLANTER SET UP — Missy Bauer
Missy Bauer is an independent crop consultant with B&M Crop Consulting out of Coldwater, MI. She acts as the Farm Journal Associate Field Agronomist and coordinates the Farm Journal Test Plots in the eastern Corn Belt. Missy also is an agronomist for AgDay Farm Journal College TV. Missy has hosted Corn College and Soybean College in addition to helping Ken Ferrie with Corn College in Heyworth, IL. Previously, Missy had been a field agronomist with The Andersons for eight years. She coordinated agronomy research farms in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio which were used to educate customers on agronomic practices, test new products and systems, and to evaluate current products.

IMPROVING SOYBEAN YIELDS — Dr. David Holshouser
Dr. Holshouser is an Associate Professor in the Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences Department at Virginia Tech. Research focus is on intensively managed soybean cropping systems, cover crops and pest management issues.
HERBICIDE TECHNOLOGY DISCUSSION PANEL: Future of Xtend/Enlist Technologies
Panel will include representatives from Clemson University Department of Pesticide Regulation, Clemson Extension, and industry representatives from both Monsanto and Dow.
Certified Crop Advisor & Continuing Certification Hours for Pesticide Applicators have been applied for.
