ALACHUA CO., Fla. — This class will teach attendees how to recognize corn health issues in the field and provide some helpful tips for confirming diagnoses in the lab. Training topics will include: basics of plant pathology and plant health diagnostics, recognizing field symptoms, laboratory analysis of corn samples and confirmation of diagnoses, common corn diseases and management recommendations. Dr. Kevin Korus provides ten years of unique experience working with corn disease management in Nebraska; four of those years were as the Coordinator of the University of Nebraska’s Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic. Continued Education Units will only be awarded to active participants.
The workshop registration fee is $10.00. Participants must register online. Limited to 25 participants. Complete the Zoom registration that will be emailed to you after your Eventbrite purchase to have access to the Zoom meeting. To ensure attendance, poll questions developed via Zoom, will be cast at the end of every major topic. There will be no refunds for the registration fee.
There will be an optional (but highly recommended) follow-up course offered in-person during the 2021 growing season in Alachua County.
