ITHACA, N.Y. — Recently, the Dairy One Board of Directors appointed Jim Monroe as the new CEO of Dairy One. Jim assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective October 3rd, 2022. Since that time, he has been transitioning into leadership as Jamie Zimmerman, former CEO, transitioned out. January 1, 2023, marked the completion of this transition process.
“Following a comprehensive search, we are pleased to appoint Jim Munroe as Chief Executive Officer. Jim joins us with an extensive background in agriculture, leadership, and management,” said Dan Sheldon, chairman of the board.
Jim has served as the Branch Manager for Monroe Tractor in the Adams Center, N.Y. location for ten years. In this role, Jim managed relationships in an agricultural community heavily influenced by dairy operations that spanned from northern New York to Maine.
“I look forward to being part of the important role Dairy One plays in the Northeast, supporting our employees, the Board, and our agriculture communities,” said Jim Munroe.
Previously, Munroe served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years. During his tenure as a Marine Communications Officer, he led organizations as large as 300 Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers, managed Marine Program portfolios as large as $2.9 Billion, planned and installed robust communication infrastructures, and served in the software test and evaluation realm for the Department of Defense.
Since starting in the fall of 2022, Munroe has attended board meetings, visited farms during DHI test day, and learned about the various services that Dairy One offers farms. He is excited to be a part of the new partnerships with BoviSync and Feedlync. The Dairy One team has enjoyed meeting with him to work on what’s next for the organization.
The mission of Dairy One is to create and deliver data and information which will be used to make profit-enhancing decisions for members of the agricultural community.
