JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The FCS Financial Rural Community and Agriculture Foundation recently granted $10,000 to Laclede County R-1 School District for the construction of the Conway Ag Learning Center.

The learning center will include a shop, livestock facility and two classrooms to provide a better learning environment for students. The design also includes observation areas to accommodate younger students and to host clinics and events for community members. The FCS Financial Foundation grant puts the project closer to its goal of completing the Center for the 2018-2019 school year.

“Currently, we operate with two agriculture instructors sharing one classroom that is designed to accommodate 15 students and a temporary classroom in the shop,” says Mary Anne Keck, Conway FFA Advisor. “The learning center will enhance our program through opportunities for hands-on experience and allow students to participate in more advanced activities.”

The FCS Financial Rural Community and Agriculture Foundation represents the cooperative’s long-term commitment to a thriving and prosperous agricultural industry and our rural communities. The Foundation focuses on targeted, long-term investments.

“FCS Financial is committed to supporting our rural communities by providing assistance to help tomorrow’s leaders in agriculture succeed,” says David Janish, FCS Financial CEO. “The learning center will be a valuable educational facility for the youth in Laclede County schools to grow their knowledge and understanding of our vital industry.”
