WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Solar development is coming to the North Country. New legislation and federal programs have created strong incentives for development of both small and large-scale solar projects, and agriculture land coincides with project site requirements. Before committing to leasing land to potential developers, however, there are many factors to consider. These include researching to ensure a fair price, development location on the property, tax implications, erosion control requirements, and insurance and liability concerns, among several others.
