DES MOINES — Iowa’s Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Commissioners, along with conservation partner agencies, will meet for the annual Conservation Partnership Day held at the Capitol in Des Moines on Tuesday, January 15.
The theme of this year’s event is “Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper” and will include displays highlighting conservation efforts in each of the nine Conservation Districts of Iowa (CDI) regions across the state. Displays will highlight how funds are used for technical assistance, watershed projects, wetlands, cost share, urban and agricultural conservation practices and more.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig is scheduled to visit with the Commissioners and view displays around 2:00pm on Tuesday.
The annual event is coordinated through partnership of the Conservation Districts of Iowa and the State Soil Conservation and Water Quality Committee.
