BELMONT, N.Y. — Women Farmland Owners with and interest in Woodlot Management are invited to participate in a Learning Circle. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about basic concepts in woodlot management through discussion with other women woodlot owners, master forest owner volunteers and conservation professionals. We will start the discussion with a Woods Walk for:
- a close-up view of some sustainable woodlot management practices in action
- learning how to use a Biltmore stick to estimate timber quantities
Following a light supper we will continue discussion to share experiences with:
- timber stand improvement
- contracts
- taxes
- where to seek woodlot management assistance and information
Learning circle cost is $10.00 per person and includes educational materials and a light supper.
