COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Top honors at the 70th Annual Junior Livestock Show in Cooperstown went to young handlers from Delaware, Montgomery and Oneida counties on Tuesday, July 11, during the show’s final event, the Parade of Champions. The show, sponsored by The Farmers’ Museum and conducted in cooperation with Cornell Cooperative Extension, county 4-H educators, and clubs throughout central New York, brings together youth handlers from a nine-county area for three days of competition.
The top winners at the Junior Livestock Show bested over 250 exhibitors and their 550 animals. The F. Ambrose Clark Livestock Cup for Best of Show in the beef, swine, and sheep categories was awarded to Amanda Cranwell of Oneida County showing her beef heifer, Maddy.
In each of the livestock divisions, Supreme Animal awards went to Emily Cranwell of Oneida County in the Swine category; to Amanda Cranwell of Oneida County in the Beef category;
In the Best Bred and Owned division, the award in the Beef category to Amanda Cranwell of Oneida County with Maddy.
Showmanship Championships were earned by the following: In the Sheep division: Reserve Grand Champion Showman to Kyle Sexton of Oneida County. In the Beef division: Grand Champion Showman to Megan Cranwell of Oneida County, Reserve Grand Champion Showman to Amanda Cranwell of Oneida County. In the Swine division Reserve Grand Champion Showman to Emily Cranwell of Oneida County.

Milking Shorthorn—Junior Champion: Abigail Wratten of Oneida County with C-JAIZ Blaine Zephora

The results of the Dairy Judging Contest that was held Sunday, July 9th:
Junior Individual –fifth place to Layla VanLieshout of Oneida County; seventh place to Tim VanLieshout of Oneida County; tenth place to Mason Ziemba of Oneida County.
Senior Individuals –fourth place to Lydia Williams of Oneida County; seventh place to Kathleen Gallagher of Oneida County and eighth place to Abigail Wratten of Oneida County; and tenth place to Isaac Wratten of Oneida County.
