IOWA FALLS, Iowa — Hardin County ISU Extension and Outreach will offer a confinement site manure applicator workshop on Tuesday, February 25, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The workshop will be held at the Hardin County Extension Office at 524 Lawler Street in Iowa Falls. Confinement site applicators are considered private applicators and do not apply manure for hire. The workshop will be a live presentation by Dr. Kapil Arora, ISU Extension Agriculture Engineering Specialist, and Russ Euken, ISU Extension Livestock Specialist. Applicators are encouraged to arrive 20 minutes before the workshop start time to complete registration before the session begins.
Iowa law requires confinement site manure applicators to attend two hours of continuing education each year of their three-year certification period or pass an exam once every three years. Attendance at this workshop meets the requirements. The two hour workshop also qualifies new applicators for initial certification without taking an exam. Applicators are encouraged to complete certification requirements prior to March 1 to meet certification deadlines and avoid being assessed a late fee for re-certification.
The workshop is free and pre-registration is not required. For more information, contact Hardin County ISU Extension at ph. 641-648-4850, toll free 1-888-648-5005 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
