STEPHENVILLE, Texas — When over 8,000 FFA students and their teachers descended on Stephenville for a statewide judging contest, it took a lot of helping hands to make the event run smoothly. More than 600 volunteers showed their community spirit and support of FFA at the event held earlier this month.
Among those on hand to help out with Tarleton State University’s annual FFA Invitational Career Development Judging Contest was Lone Star Ag Credit. The local lending co-op’s Stephenville office staff made sure that all the volunteers received shirts, snacks and drinks. This year, they passed out 62 bags of snacks and 42 coolers of drinks to 18 different locations.
“This is a great day for all who come to visit Tarleton State University and Stephenville and see what a great community we live in and what all Tarleton State University has to offer,” said Shelley Gilliland, Lone Star Ag Credit senior loan administrator. “My roots are in FFA and participating in these contests, so it is a pleasure to be able to give back to this event.”
