SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Corn Marketing Board (ICMB) and the Illinois Soybean Program Operating Board (ISPOB) district director elections will take place by mail this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Traditionally ballots have been turned in at local extension offices throughout the State, but due to COVID-19 we are switching to mail-in voting with the health and safety of our Ag community as our top priority,” said Erin Cleary, Bureau Chief of Marketing. “Extension offices around the State continue to be closed due to the pandemic and we fully plan to resume in-person voting during our next voting cycle.”
ICMB districts 1, 4, 7, 10, and 13 are up for election in 2020. You can review counties represented by those districts and current district directors here.
Ballots are available by request from the commodity organizations and the Illinois Department of Agriculture. The deadline to complete and return these ballots is July 2nd. Completed ballots should be mailed to the John R. Block Building located at 801 E. Sangamon Ave., Springfield, IL.
For more information or to request a ballot, call the Illinois Department of Agriculture at (217) 524-1083 or e-mail David Humphreys at: David.Humphreys@illinois.gov.
