ALBANY, N.Y. — New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball was honored to receive CropLife America’s State Leadership Award on October 29, 2020 during the virtual 2020 Northeast Issues Summit, hosted in part by CropLife America, where representatives from northeastern states, from New Jersey to Maine, were in attendance. This annual award honors individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership in promoting state initiatives that support today’s agricultural industry.

Specifically, CropLife America’s State Leadership Award honors an individual who demonstrates outstanding leadership in the area of state legislative or regulatory issues, and promotes initiatives that preserve, protect and advance the ability of farmers to provide a safe, affordable and sustainable food supply. The award recipient has performed outstanding service by developing and/or implementing methods, programs or legislation to strengthen and improve the agriculture community.
