SEDALIA, Mo. — The Missouri State Fair is the premier showcase for Missouri agriculture. Featuring the best of the best in livestock shows, competitive exhibits, agriculture innovation and more, the State Fair is definitely the place to be in August for agriculture!
Two of the Fair’s events, Let’s Talk Livestock and Barnyard Story Time, offer a chance for fairgoers to learn about agriculture from the folks that live it each day.
Let’s Talk Livestock, sponsored by Tractor Supply Co., will return to the Fair for its third year. This award-winning program brings 4-H and FFA exhibitors out of the barn to share their livestock project with fairgoers. Exhibitors will present a short program and demonstration on caring and showing their livestock projects. Fairgoers will get to ask questions and be up close with the livestock.
Barnyard Story Time has moved to the front of the Children’s Barnyard, giving kids the opportunity to interact with different farm animals after hearing an agriculture-related story. 4-H and FFA members have brought along their favorite books to share with young fairgoers.
These events will be offered to the public free of charge and will be happening at various locations Aug. 10-20. Complete schedules will be available during the Fair at the information booths as well as in the daily schedule of events.
