Poultry shows will not take place at the 150th Colorado State Fair due to the continued risk posed by the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus, which has been confirmed in commercial and backyard domestic poultry flocks in 38 states, according to the USDA. In June, the Colorado State Veterinarian’s office issued guidance recommending all commingling poultry events be canceled or postponed due to HPAI outbreaks across the country. Coloradans are encouraged to learn more about how to protect their birds from HPAI at ag.colorado.gov/hpai.
The 150th Colorado State Fair is scheduled to return as the State’s premier family event from August 26, 2022 – September 5, 2022. For additional information, visit the Colorado State Fair website, the State Fair Facebook account, or call 719-561-8484.
