GREELEY, Colo. — The four Colorado representatives who sit on National Corn Growers Association action teams and committees have been busy recently.
Last week, Colorado Corn Executive Coordinator Ann Cross and Colorado Corn Growers Association (CCGA) board secretary Rod Hahn both attended the NCGA Engaging Members Committee meeting in St. Louis. During the event, the committee discussed leadership and diversity initiatives, grassroots efforts, cultural awareness, scholarship programs, and member benefits among other topics.
Additionally, Colorado Corn Administrative Committee (CCAC) board president Mike Lefever this week attended the NCGA Market Access Action Team in Savannah, Ga., where conversations focused on the new administration and its potential impacts on trade, watershed initiatives, and the economic contributions of U.S. grain exports. Mike and the action team also toured various port operations.
And also this week, Colorado Corn Executive Director Mark Sponsler is attending a meeting of the NCGA Corn Productivity and Quality Action Team in Tampa Bay, Fla., where the group is discussing a recent sustainability survey, the National Phenotyping Initiative, new corn uses, and looking ahead to the 2018 Corn Utilization and Technology Conference, along with touching on a number of other issues.
