FORT WORTH, Texas — Colorado was well-represented this month at the three-day Southwest Agricultural Issues Summit in Fort Worth, Tex. Colorado Corn Growers Association (CCGA) Public Policy Chair Dave Cure served as the organization’s representative at the summit, while CCGA Vice President Jeff Self, CCGA Secretary Rod Hahn and Colorado Corn Administrative Committee board member Doug Melcher also attended.
The Southwest Council of Agribusiness, of which CCGA is a member, and the Texas Ag Forum partner up to host this event. The Summit is an opportunity for farmers and ranchers — as well as bankers, businessmen, and policy makers — to come together to discuss the issues confronting the agricultural industry.
Past summits in 2012 and 2013 were described as successes that provided the opportunity to dig in on policy and economic issues in advance of the 2014 Farm Bill, and the Summit this year allowed interested organizations to again lay the groundwork for the future of farm policy.
