MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension offices of Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Tioga Counties are proud to announce the start of the CNY 4-H Livestock Rodeo Series. The Rodeo Series will educate youth about raising, preparing and showing livestock animals including Goats, Sheep, Beef, Rabbits, Poultry and Swine.
This year, the focus will be placed on meat goats, sheep, and beef. Each session will have experts and staff present to guide youth through hands on activities to help prepare them for the upcoming show season. Each youth will learn to prep their animal for show and learn about showmanship. The day will conclude with a showmanship contest. All youth will leave with a tool to prepare them for show season! The sheep and meat goat event will be held on Saturday, April 30 beginning at 1PM. This will be hosted at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point, NY. The beef event will be held on Saturday, June 4 beginning at 10AM. This will be hosted at the Cortland County Fairgrounds in Cortland, NY. Registration is now open for each event. The cost is $10 per event, scholarships are available, please contact your local 4-H office to request information prior to registration. Unfortunately, Cloverbud members are not eligible for these events.

The CCE offices are also excited to announce that the CNY 4-H Livestock Rodeo Series is a national finalist for the Feed it Forward grant from Nutrena Feeds. To help the CNY 4-H Livestock Rodeo win the grant we are asking for help by voting daily from now through March 17, 2022 for the video that was submitted on behalf of our 4-H youth.
