LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Friday afternoon, the seven green industry organizations of GreenCO partnered to send an urgent letter to Governor Polis and Commissioner of Agriculture, Kate Greenberg. The letter emphasizes that our industries are essential, and should remain open in the event of a “shelter-in-place” order. While we have not yet encountered such an order, we are being proactive, so we don’t have to fight for this designation after the fact. Read the letter (includes list of the GreenCO organizations).
We ask those of you who are business owners to reach out by email to your state representatives and senators by downloading and attaching our letter. Personalize your email with information about your business, its economic footprint and number of employees, and the importance of serving your customers while adhering consistently to the health and safety guidelines coming from the CDC and public health authorities.
We continue to work for you behind the scenes legislatively with communications such as this, and publicly with our efforts to let consumers know you are still open for business. If you have any “best practices” for serving our consumers and community in this unprecedented situation, please don’t hesitate to forward them to us. You will be receiving more frequent than usual communications from us in the weeks ahead as we navigate this situation together.
Sincerely,
Glenda Mostek, Executive Director
Colorado Nursery & Greenhouse Association
