COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A new date has been set for the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee’s (CCAC) “Clearing the Air on Ethanol” event, which was expected to take place in October but was postponed. Automotive professionals are the intended audience for this educational event on April 20th at the Pikes Peak International Raceway near Fountain, Colorado.
Two combustion experts will be the featured speakers for the event. Dr. Andy Randolph with ECR Racing, and Chris Van Roekel at Colorado State University. Dr. Randolph is known as one of the leading applied combustion experts in the world and has contributed to five NASCAR Cup championships with three different teams. As Technical Director for ECR Engines, Dr. Randolph has done extensive research on the combustion properties of alcohol/diesel and alcohol/oil blends.
Van Roekel is a mechanical engineering PhD candidate and research assistant at CSU’s Energy Institute Powerhouse Lab, where he studies oxygenated, dual-fuel diesel combustion strategies.
From pit row to a nearby classroom, several exhibits will be set up as part of the expo from 4:00-6:00 pm. Dinner and presentations from the speakers will occur from 6-8:30 pm.
Watch for updates and additional details about the event on Colorado Corn’s website and social media outlets.
