SPENCER, Iowa — The Clay County Fair announces an opening act change for the Michael W. Smith concert on Sept. 10.
Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, We Are Messengers will not be able to perform at the Clay County Fair this year. In their place, Tauren Wells will now open for Michael W. Smith as part of the SRG Concert Series in the Sleep Number Grandstand at the 2019 Clay County Fair on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:30pm.
Four-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated Tauren Wells is a father, songwriter, worship leader, ordained minister and performer. He toured with Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey on the All The Hits Tour, as well as Chris Tomlin’s Worship Night in America Tour. Wells debuted his solo music in 2017 with the hit “Love Is Action,” which held the No. 1 spot at CHR radio for eight weeks. He followed it up with “Undefeated” featuring rapper KB, “Hills and Valleys,” and “When We Pray.” His music has since garnered four GMA Dove Awards.
Tickets are on sale now. Prices are $35 (general admission stage front standing), $30 (reserved Grandstand seating), and $25 (general admission bleacher seating).
