Since chronic wasting disease (CWD) was first detected in Michigan in 2015, 181 deer have tested positive for CWD across 8 lower peninsula Michigan counties and 1 upper peninsula county. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has instituted a variety of regulations to help manage the spread of CWD but there is more that can be done through local government engagement.
This webinar will include a presentation by MSU Extension CWD Educator, Katie Ockert. This presentation will help participants understand how the DNR regulations help manage the spread of CWD, how you can help bolster community buy in to those regulations, and share additional options for further local action.
