CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. — The Chippewa County Farm Tractor and Machinery Certification Program will be offered via distance learning due to the current COVID-19 situation. The program is designed to teach basic farm, tractor and machinery safety to youth ages 12 and over. “Youth who successfully complete the program will be certified for both the state and federal farm safety programs,” notes Jerry Clark, Chippewa County Crops & Soils Educator. Students are required to pass a written exam and a tractor driving skills test.
Workbooks, worksheet packets, and online videos will be used for the training. Registration is $40.00 for a hardcopy of the workbook and worksheet packet. There is no cost for students using an online workbook; however, $10.00 is still required for the worksheet packet. Registration deadline is Friday, May 29, 2020.
