WEST CHESTER, Pa. — The Chester County 4-H Program is seeking new volunteers and 4-H clubs! 4-H is a youth developmentĀ program for youth ages 5-18. Volunteers are essential to our program and allow you to share your hobbiesĀ with interested youth. Projects can be as varied as sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, animal science, outdoorĀ adventures, and more. 4-H volunteer opportunities range from coordinating monthly club meetings toĀ leading a one-time craft project. Whatever you have to offer, 4-H has a place for you!
A signature PSU Extension program, Pennsylvania 4-H Youth Development provides 78,800 youthĀ participants with fun and exciting learning opportunities that help them develop the critical life skills theyĀ need to contribute to their communities as children and adults. This effort is supported by 6,950 adultĀ volunteers.
The Chester County volunteer recruitment campaign hopes to reach out to caring adult volunteers who willĀ give their time to the countyās youth through 4-H. āWe hope to expand the 4-H program to our county youthĀ by recruiting adults to volunteer with 4-H,ā said Audrey Reith, Extension Educator for the Chester County 4-HĀ Youth Development program. āNot only are volunteers necessary to engage more youth, but they are aĀ positive example for the kids around them. When they see us actively engaging in our communities, they willĀ understand why it is so important for them to do the same as adults.ā
New volunteers and youth members are always welcome to join the 4-H program. For more information onĀ how to join or start a 4-H club, please contact the 4-H Office at ChesterExt@psu.edu or (610) 696-3500.
