CENTENNIAL, Colo. — On Thursday, the U.S. Senate passed their version of the 2018 Farm Bill. This move brings the Farm Bill one step close to final passage.
“At a time when commodity prices are low and farmers and ranchers are struggling, the passage of the Senate Farm Bill is particularly important,” said Zach Riley, Director of Public Policy, National Affairs. “While the process isn’t complete yet, it’s a big step in the right direction and a great time to build some momentum.”
While the Farm Bill must still go through some steps before completely finalized, this is a hurdle that was vital to overcome.
Next, the Farm Bill will go to the House/Senate conference committee where more tweaks will be made to the final bill.
