CENTENNIAL, Colo. — CFB has been lucky to host several international visitors in the past few weeks. Last month, we hosted visitors from the UK to better understand Brexit and its impacts on trade around the world. Around the table were other important representatives from Colorado agriculture including the Colorado Department of Agriculture, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Colorado Corn as well as farmers and ranchers representing beef, millet, corn, wheat and much more.
This week, CFB hosted Mr. Mike Peterson from the Special Agricultural Trade Envoy from New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, for a visit to the CFB Center and Arnusch Farms, LLC. Representatives from the New Zealand Embassy in Washington, D.C. and from Beef + Lamb New Zealand were present as well.
Additionally, Jörn Ehlers, Vice President of Landvolk Niedersachsen (the Lower Saxony farmers association) and his wife Maren Ehlers, visited the CFB office to talk about agriculture issues facing Colorado farmers and ranchers.
Comparing these different perspectives is a great way to provide perspective and share new ideas. There are many similar issues that our countries face when it comes to food production and these meetings help foster new ideas and build relationships that benefit us all.
