EAST LANSING, Mich. — The deadline to make your annual appointment to certify your spring planted crops with the USDA Farm Service Agency is July 15, 2018. This year has seen planting delays, heat waves, flooding, prevented planting and now drought conditions. In a year where everything related to agriculture seems to be a race against time in southwest Michigan, you don’t want to miss this important deadline to make sure you are eligible for government programs and crop insurance coverage.
If you have not had the chance to report yet, make an appointment to certify/late certify today with your Farm Service Agency office today. This appointment should also get the ARC/PLC enrollment application completed for 2018.
