CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Betsy Bower, Certified Agronomist of Ceres Solutions, has completed the required certification to be an authorized CropMetrics precision irrigation service provider.
CropMetrics provides water management tools to aid growers in maximizing the efficiency and profitability of their irrigation systems. CropMetrics certified experts must attend annual training and successfully pass exams in four areas of systematic water management. These include agronomics of soil and water, managing water with soil moisture probes, using crop modeling and weather to enhance precision water application and spatial application of water through variable rate irrigation. This comprehensive training is also approved by the NRCS for support of their cost-share programs relating to advanced water management.
CropMetrics is a Nebraska-based precision agriculture company specializing in precision water management. Ceres Solutions is the full service farmer-owned cooperative partnership that delivers agronomy inputs, seed, technology, information, irrigation and crop nutrient solutions to area growers. The company also supplies premium diesel fuel and gasoline, as well as propane gas in more than 13 western Indiana counties.
