LOVELAND, Colo. — The Colorado Egg Producers (CEP) Association was a proud sponsor of the recent Colorado Ag Water Summit in Loveland, while CEP Executive Director Bill Scebbi was also in attendance at the event.
The summit was hosted by the Colorado Agricultural Water Alliance (CAWA), which is a coalition of agricultural organizations, whose goal is to empower ag stakeholders to make the most informed and viable decisions regarding Colorado’s water.
The all-day event featured various speakers covering the continued efforts of the state’s agriculture industry to meet our food demands while using less water, and also explored how they’re doing it, and the importance of their environmental stewardship efforts.
Colorado’s egg producers pride themselves in taking part in the industry’s environmental success story. Among other achievements, farmers are now producing 27 percent more eggs per day than they did 50 years ago, but amazingly, they’re doing so while using 32 percent less water.
