MARSHFIELD, Wis. — The Central Wisconsin Soil Health Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 at the Marshfield Agricultural Research Station at 2611 Yellowstone Drive, Marshfield, WI starting at 9:30am.
Agronomists, farmers, and agriculture professionals are welcome. This is a collaborative effort with Land Conservation, UW-Madison Division of Extension, and NRCS.
Speakers for the meeting will include: Ashley Lorence (NC Regional Outreach Specialist, NPM) – “How to Select and When to Plant Cover Crops in Central Wisconsin”, Richard Halopka (Extension Clark County CCA Senior Outreach Specialist) – “What is Soil Health?”, Jim Arch (Clark County Land Conservationist) – “Intro to Demo Cover Crop Project in Clark County”, Jane Reigel (Clark County NRCS Conservationist) – “Rainfall Simulator”, Francisco Arriaga (UW-Madison Applied Soil Physics, Soil & Water Management) – “How to Measure Soil Health”, Jason Cavadini (Marshfield Ag Research Station Assistant Superintendent) – “No-Till & Covers in Central Wisconsin Research” followed by a No-Till Round Table to close the day.
Cost of event is $10.00 per person and includes lunch and handouts. Pre-registration is required by March 21 so we can plan for lunch and copies. Please contact the Extension Clark County Office at 715-743-5121. CEUs have been applied for.
