HARRISBURG, Pa. — Dairy professionals serving and supporting dairy farm families are invited to attend one of four Dairy Industry Professional Roundtable Meetings hosted by the Center for Dairy Excellence in Bedford, Grove City, Lancaster, Mansfield and State College.
“We are very concerned about the level of stress out there in the industry right now,” said Jayne Sebright, executive director of the Center for Dairy Excellence. “These meetings will offer resources available to dairy industry professionals who are supporting farm families dealing with that financial stress.”
The meetings will also highlight findings identified in the 2017 Pennsylvania Dairy Study. Those who attend the meetings will have the opportunity to join in a discussion about the findings and the key themes identified within the study.
“Those who join us at the meetings will have the opportunity to share in a discussion about where our weaknesses and our strengths are in the industry and ways to strengthen it over the long term,” said Alan Zepp, risk management and program manager for the Center. “We want to have a meaningful discussion about moving forward.”
