LYONS, Neb. — The Center for Rural Affairs announces the following events:
- Tilden, Neb. – Explore Farming Tour and Business Planning Discussion (Bilingual), Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 to 11:30 a.m, O’Brien Angus Farms, 83340 Nebraska Highway 45. - South Sioux City, Neb. – Child Care Academy (Spanish), Saturdays, Aug. 20, 27, and Sept. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Unity in Action, 3900 Dakota Ave., Suite 11. Attendees will learn about the requirements needed to get a childcare license, and there will be a presentation on childcare. Participants will have the opportunity to earn their certification in first aid, automated external defibrillator (AED), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). - Malcolm, Neb. – Sustainable Farming: Conservation & Business Planning (Bilingual), Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., DS Family Farm, 13550 W. U.S. Highway 34. Participants will be given a tour by members of the DS Family Farm. They’ll also hear about conservation practices as well as the value of having a business plan. - Lexington, Neb. – Getting Ready to Start My Own Business, Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 6 and 7, from 6 to 8 p.m., Dawson Area Development, 1501 Plum Creek Parkway, Suite 5. Have you dreamed of opening your own business but don’t know where to start? Join this workshop to discover the importance of developing your brand, identity, business plan, target market, and much more.
