GREELEY, Colo. — Colorado Corn Growers Association (CCGA) President Dave Eckhardt took time out of his busy schedule to answer questions from the audience at last week’s screening of the new documentary, “Food Evolution,” at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Colorado Corn Communications Director Eric Brown was also in attendance, helping the Greeley Chamber of Commerce’s Ag Committee in hosting the event.
“Food Evolution” aims to alleviate consumer concerns over genetically modified crops, or GMOs, using science, rather than emotion, to tell the story.
Joining Dave in helping answer questions from the audience after the film were Western Sugar Cooperative Chief Scientist Rebecca Larson, and local farmer and CommonGround volunteer Sondra Pierce.
This week’s screening of “Food Evolution” comes after a similar screening and follow-up discussion in Boulder, which was organized by the local Farmers Alliance for Integrated Resources (FAIR) group, and sponsored by the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee (CCAC) and other ag organizations.
