BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County is offering its Spring Gardening Programs in April.
On April 7th classes will focus on yard care. “Getting your lawn off to a healthy start”, covering winterkill, spring treatments, fertilization, and turf problems from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. The second class will starts at 11:00 am. This 90 minute session is titled, “Getting the Dirt on Soils” covering compost, soil testing, soil texture, mulch and bed preparation.
April 14th classes include; “Coming Soon to a Garden near You” which looks at ticks, aphids, spiders and other creepy crawlies from 9:00 am to 10:30 am and “Who has been living with you?” Which covers identification and prevention methods for moles, voles, termites, ants and more.
Pre-registration by April 4th is encouraged. Cost for one day is $15.00 or for both days is $20.00. Walk-ins are welcome—cost at the door is $18.00 per day.
