RENSSELAER CO., N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County (CCERC) is proud to say they are 100 years young. This year CCERC is entering their second century of serving the residents of Rensselaer County. In an effort to recognize this milestone, CCERC is looking for input from individuals, farmers, families, businesses and other organizations that may have a story to share about the impact CCERC made. We welcome any stories whether they took place 100 years ago or just last year. Submitting stories in writing would be appreciated or if you or someone you know would be interested in being interviewed we are hoping to carry out interviews for a video display as well. A Centennial display/activity is in the planning stages to be high-lighted at the Schaghticoke Fair. We are asking for any items folks may have that could be borrowed for the display or copied. Pictures and bulletins come to mind but there may be other items very appropriate for recognizing our one hundred years.
As momentous as it is to celebrate the past 100 years, great effort will be spent looking forward and striving to serve our community in a timely and relevant way for decades to come. Lastly, a time capsule will be created in hopes that when opened in the future, there will be clear evidence of the vitality, education and relevance our organization has provided. If anyone has anything to share, questions or comments please contact Bernie Wiesen at CCE of Rensselaer County at 518-272-4210 or via email at bw27@cornell.edu. CCERC looks forward to “Growing The Next Century” in Rensselaer County.
