BROOME CO., N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County is very proud to continue our partnership with Broome County Department of Veterans Services to provide hands-on training and support for veterans in Broome County focused on nutrition and healthy eating, gardening and agricultural topics.
On Saturday July 16th the following special events will be occurring FREE to veterans who reside in Broome County at the Broome County Regional Farmers Market:
- Veterans residing in Broome County are invited to join us at the Broome County Regional Farmers Market from 9am-1pm to receive $10 in coupons to shop at the farmers market. Please bring proof of veteran status. The veteran is asked to be in attendance.
- Join us at 9:30am FREE nutrition and cooking class! Join Kathleen, our educator, as we learn how to make a hearty breakfast burrito using some items available at the Market. The first 14 people will receive a 5” utility knife with sheath. Veterans spouses are welcome to attend alongside the veteran.
- Join us from 9am-1pm for a canning and preserving class where we will learn to make pickles and bring some home! FREE to veterans. One spouse is encouraged to attend and learn these new skills!
