ORANGE CO., N.Y. — On Saturday, July 28, 2018, from noon until 7 p.m., Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County will be hosting Family Fun Day at the Education Center and 4-H Park located at 300 Finchville Turnpike, Otisville, New York. The event is free for all and filled with family-friendly activities showcasing programming by CCEOC including Old Mac’s Petting Zoo, crafts, food and horticulture demos, dog agility, archery, 4-H exhibits, food trucks, Nature Explorers interactive displays, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Operation Safe Child, pony cart rides, live music by local band Clutch 22 and a Duck Derby.
“Family Fun Day is our largest event of the year showcasing a sampling of all that Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County has to offer our community residents. The event is free for all. Throughout the day, there will be a wide range of activities for all ages and activity levels. At 4:14 p.m., we will begin to wrap up the event with the popular Duck Derby where rubber ducks race down a man-made river and the first place duck wins $500. This is one of the most popular events of the day. Following the Duck Derby, attendees are invited to watch a model rocket launch in the field and there will be live music,” shared Communications Manager Kerry Dowling.
Rubber ducks are available for purchase prior to the event and you do not need to be present to win. Ducks are $5 each or 5 for $20. Please visit www.cceorangecounty.org or check the Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County Facebook page for a schedule of events for the day and a link to sponsor a duck in the race.
