EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County (CCE Onondaga) is pleased to announce the relocation of its offices to 6505 Collamer Road, East Syracuse. The new building, most recently occupied by HYLA North America, will serve as the new CCE Onondaga office location as of March 10, 2020, when it is opened to the public. The new space provides additional capacity for growing program areas and increases the organizations ability to serve our Onondaga County community’s educational needs to the best of their ability.
“We were fortunate to find a new location which spoke directly to our historic mission. At our new office space, we will be more visible, available to the public, and central to all areas of the county, both rural and urban. It is important for our Association to continue on a path of sustainable growth and provide superior informal educational opportunities to our community. I thank our staff, Board of Directors, community partners, and funders for their continued support, input, and patience as we embark on this exciting transition. This is the start of a promising new chapter in our organization’s history, here in Onondaga County. We hope you will all join us,” said David Skeval, Executive Director of CCE Onondaga.
ABOUT CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION OF ONONDAGA COUNTY
Since April 15th, 1913, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County has responded to the needs of local residents with unbiased, research-based information, tools and education that people have come to depend on and trust. Our programs are developed in direct response to community input, and are based on the most current information available from Cornell and other Land Grant universities from across the nation.
The mission of Cooperative Extension is to enable people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. Extension staff and trained volunteers deliver education programs, conduct applied research, and encourage community collaborations. Our educators connect people with the information they need on topics such as commercial and consumer agriculture; nutrition and health; youth and families; economic and community development; and sustainable natural resources. Our ability to match university resources with community needs helps us play a vital role in the lives of individuals, families, businesses, and communities throughout Onondaga County.
CCE Onondaga is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization and is part of the Cooperative Extension land grant system, a partnership between County, State, and Federal governments that is administered in New York State through Cornell University. Each county’s Cooperative Extension association is independent and works to serve the needs of the county in which it is located.
CCE Onondaga has an extensive system for getting input from diverse interests in the community, and they welcome your involvement in our efforts. If you’d like more information on how to get involved, please get in touch with the contact listed below.
