BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County in partnership with Farmland for the New Generation New York will offer a three part series where we explore ways to keep farmland in production and access farmland to start, or expand, your farming operation.
On February 13th we’ll walk through the steps to consider when looking to purchase farmland, including determining how much you can afford and where to obtain financing. We’ll hear from lenders about their financing programs and also explore the National Young Farmers Coalition Land Calculator.
On March 16th we’ll highlight land conservation options here in Broome County and a new non-profit starting in the Southern Tier – the Southern Tier Land Conservancy.
And on April 13th we will hear from the Cornell Cooperative Extension Harvest NY Climate Mitigation Specialists on an overview of regenerative agriculture as an opportunity to consider climate mitigation factors when farming.
The cost to attend each webinar in the series is $10 each, or $25 for the series. Payment is required at the time of registration and the zoom link will be sent the morning of each presentation.
