WALPOLE, N.H. — The Cheshire County Conservation District (CCCD) will host an Erosion Control Field Day training on Wednesday, August 23 from 8am – 3:30pm in an effort to promote a better understanding of the latest tools available to all who are entrusted with protecting our precious soil and water resources. The training will be held at Stonewall Farm, 242 Chesterfield Rd. in Keene, and is geared toward professionals working in soils, erosion control, water quality, public works, engineering, roads, planning, and consulting, though all those interested in learning more are encouraged to attend!
Sediment is the world’s #1 pollutant. Soil moved by erosion can be harmful to our drinking water resources, our fish and wildlife, and can impact our quality of life. We all need to know our options for both controlling sediment and for designing and installing more effective long term erosion control solutions. This day-long training will start with classroom sessions and then move outdoors to small group sessions in a hands-on demonstration setting and touch on a range of topics. Those in attendance will receive Continuing Education Approvals in the form of (6.0) NH DES Subsurface Credits and (6.0 hours) Professional Development Hours.
Registration is required no later than August 15 – the fee to attend is $60. Checks should be made payable to the Cheshire County Conservation District and mailed to 11 Industrial Park Dr. Walpole, NH 03608. Coffee and pastries will be provided for the morning sessions as well as a buffet lunch for all participants. For more information and to view our event brochure visit: www.cheshireconservation.org/

The Cheshire County Conservation District promotes the conservation and responsible use of our natural and agricultural resources for the people of Cheshire County by providing technical, financial, and educational assistance. Our goal is to encourage the stewardship of healthy soils, productive ecologically sound farms, diverse wildlife, productive sustainable forests, healthy watersheds, and clean water to ensure those resources are available for future generations. Established in 1945, the Conservation District operates out of Walpole, NH where we work alongside the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and other conservation partners.
